The editing conspiracy

Librarian

ok, i know we had this discussion before on open forums, but i found out something new and very wierd. i was editing a comment of mine, and got the old user admin gained a point, user Bill Door lost one, when i thought "if admin gets a point when i edit, whatll happen if i edit one of his comments?". so i dug up admins track till found one that wasnt openinng a topic (editing those never changes anything in points) and added a space inside it. but admin didnt lose a point. i started to get suspicious, so i found one of lee's comments and deleted a dot, but still nothing happened. i asked ratty and ponder if i could edit some of their commets, and when i did they did lose points. in conclusion, admins are immune to the editing bug, but other users arent. any explanations, lee?

Although I cant say as much in the open forums, I am kindof worried by this whole thing. While it's quite funny given which people it annoys, if thudpoints are our currency then you've got to be confident that they're being distributed fairly.

And if nothing else, we're encouraging people not to edit their posts, which could mean lots of posts with unnecessary errors left, or double posts because someone's thought of something else they wanted to add (even if it's only worth a PS) and such like woes. This way, madness lies... And they're not singing "House of Fun"...
